Historical Notes

1948 Piper PA-11 Project.  The former owner, an A&P with I.A., began this restoration several years ago.  Excellent work was done, but work stopped during his last illness.  This is N4927H, Serial Number 11-797.

General Impression

Work was done exceptionally well, mostly by the former owner or under his supervision. Fit of everything is very tight and clean. With most parts present, this aircraft would be a great winter project.

Fuselage and Hull

The fuselage is nearly complete and ready for covering and finish.  Evidence of repairs is present, and they were professionally executed.  Fuselage is rigged for empennage, but not hooked up.

Cabin/Cockpit
Floor and seats are installed with upholstery on the seats.  New front canopy glass.

Instrument Panel
Bare panel is present. Some original core, fair to good condition instruments are present- cream face tachometer, airspeed, combination oil pressure/temperature gauge and A-7 magneto switch

Engine Nacelle
Boot cowl is new, nose bowl is new.  Cowling pieces are used but fair to good condition.

Power Plant
Included is a Continental C-90 engine, partially disassembled.  No logs were found but external inspection of parts shows fair condition.  Crank is a flanged crank.

Propeller
refinished Sensenich W72GK50 wooden propeller.  Stamped specifications shown in photographs.

Landing Gear

Installed, rolling on wheels and tires of unknown condition.

Wing Panels
Both are covered to J-3 Cub Yellow with Randolph process.  Very good condition.  Both ailerons are bare metal and will require some minor repair.

Empennage
Horizontals and elevators are covered to J-3 Cub Yellow.  Rudder is to silver.  All five pieces done in Randolph.

Additional Notes
Spare Main Landing Gear (MLG) Wheel and Tire included. Spare MLG wheels. 4 gallons of Newport Blue, 4 gallons of J-3 Cub Yellow, 2 Gallons of Silver, and some clear butyrate dope are present and included in sale. Included with sale is the sewn fuselage envelope in good condition in original shipping box.  This is a project, collected into current storage after the former owner passed, and there may be items missing from the restoration.  But there are also some extra parts available.
